Menopausal Symptoms and Treatment

Menopause is when your body stops producing the hormone called estrogen. This is a natural transition for women in their 40s and 50s. Some women go through menopause due to surgical removal of the ovaries or treatments that can impact the ovary's production of estrogen. During menopause a woman stops menstruating and the average age for this is 51.

Perimenopause starts earlier, often for women in their 30s and 40s. Perimenopause can cause changes in the menstrual cycle as well as symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, flushing, anxiety, mood swings, vaginal dryness, changes in libido to name a few. The doctors at Dallas Women's Healthcare Specialists are here to help you. These symptoms are treatable and we can help.
